Obituary for Ernest Thomas Ward
Ernest Thomas "Tommy" Ward, 73, of Plymouth, died Sunday, July 10, 2022, at ECU Health Vidant Medical Center in Greenville surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Washington County he was the son of the late Milton Thomas Ward and Esther Christine Perry Ward who survives. Tommy retired as a paper machine supervisor with Weyerhaeuser Corporation with forty years' service and was a member of Plymouth Church of The Nazarene.
His family includes his mother, Esther Christine Perry Ward of Plymouth, NC; loving wife, Jessie Pritchard Ward of Plymouth, NC; daughters, Carol Gurganus and husband Henry of Plymouth, NC and Melody Cutler and husband Billy of Washington, NC; sons, Ben Ward and wife Lorelei of Santa Fe, NM and Perry White and wife Cindy of Roper, NC; sisters, Francis W. Gudger of Harrisburg, NC, Linda W. Anderson of Harrisburg, NC, Janice W. Bielmyer and husband Ervin of Wilsons, VA and Susan W. Lewis and husband Don of Woodlands, TX; brothers, Milton Harry Ward and wife Mittie of Plymouth, NC and Jeffrey Wayne Ward and wife Joyce of Plymouth, NC; eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews and special niece, Jennifer Burden.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Plymouth Church of The Nazarene with Pastor Steve Creech and Paul Harrington officiating. Family will receive friends at the church following the service and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Plymouth Food Pantry at PO Box 42, Plymouth, NC 27962 or charity of choice.
