Obituary for Elizabeth Haire Brickhouse
Elizabeth Haire Brickhouse, a native of Columbia, N.C., passed away on June 30, 2012, in the Temple Living Center-East in Temple, TX., where she resided for the past nine years. She was ninety-six years old and was born in the Creswell, N.C. community to the late Cornelius J. and Sarah Furlough Haire on October 12, 1915. She was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Tania Lynn Brickhouse; sister, Maxine Haire Sawyer; brothers, Theodore Haire and Preston Haire. She was a homemaker, choir member, Sunday school teacher, church auxiliary member and help-mate to her husband, Richard Brickhouse, of Columbia, N.C., who passed away in November 2002. She is survived by her family, R. Larry Brickhouse of Topeka, KS., Aubrey L. and Patricia Brickhouse of Temple, TX., L. Stanley and Diana Brickhouse of Chillicothe, MO. and Sandra and Guy Tippett of Broadway, VA. She is also survived by one sister, Naomi Haire Ambrose and one brother, C. J. Haire both of Creswell, N.C.. She has seven surviving grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was a member of Sound Side Free Will Baptist Church in Columbia, N.C.. She loved her Lord, her family and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sound Side Free Baptist Church, Columbia. N.C. with Reverend Royce Reynolds officiating. Family will receive friends on July 5, 2012 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Sound Side Free Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sound Side Free Baptist Church at 244 River Neck Road, Columbia, NC 27925. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, NC.
