Obituary for Effie Akers Swett
Effie Ann Akers Swett, 76, of Creswell died Monday, September 17, 2018, at her residence in Creswell.
Born May 11, 1942 in Grundy, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Andrew Akers and Willie Mae Matheny Akers and was preceded in death by her daughters, Sandra S. Brickhouse and Brenda S. Hunold; sisters, Charlotte Gaskill, Evelyn Kathryn Stanley and Cora Jean Akers; brothers, Johnny Akers, Clarence Akers and Eddie Akers. Mrs. Swett was a homemaker and member of Cherry Church of God.
Her family includes her husband, Marvell "Marty" Swett of fifty-seven years of Creswell, N.C.; daughters, Linda S. Berry and Billy of Chocowinity, N.C. and Connie S. Rast and husband Dave of South Mills, N.C.; son, Marvell "Marty" Swett, Jr. and wife Lynn of Creswell, N.C.; sister, Hazel Mae Casey of Camden, N.C.; brothers, Andrew Akers and Sammy Akers of Abbington, TN. and Roy Akers of Zephyrhills, FL.; grandchildren, Stephaine Copeland and husband David, Cindy Day and husband Michael, Justina Swain and husband John, Bobby Berry, Brandy Clark and husband Joey, Kriston Jordan, Priscilla Berry and husband Aaron, Makayla Brickhouse and husband Andrew, Alana Swett, Sybil Brickhouse and husband Harley, William Reagan Jr. and wife Amber, Heather Berkey and husband Bill and Amanda Hodges and husband Johnny; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Micheal, Nathan, Marti, Jonathan, Alexis, Eli, Trent, David, Jackson, Justin, Skyler, Daniel, Victoria, Noah, Cheyenne, Mason, Levi, Madison, Savannah and Aarlynn and great great grandchild, Chanler.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Cherry Church of God in Creswell with David Phelps and Steve Mizell officiating. Burial will follow in the Swett Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cherry Church of God and other times at the residence.
