Eddie Dean Spencer, 75, of Plymouth, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 5,1948 in Tyrrell County he was the son of the late Jennis Victor Spencer and Mandy Bell West Spencer. Eddie retired from Weyerhaeuser with forty-two years of service as a Shift Engineer with the Power Department. He was a member of The Gideons International, active member and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hope Free Will Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He most recently worked with Maitland Funeral Homes as a funeral directors assistant.
Eddie will be fondly remembered for being the kind hearted and caring person who would do anything he could to help others. He always greeted you with a smile that always made you feel special. He was a true Christian man who showed love and compassion each and every day while serving his Lord. He loved his Lord, his family, and his church family. He never met a stranger! He will be missed dearly by his family, and his family at Maitland Funeral Home where he leaves such a void and with all of his friends.
His family includes his loving wife, Melba Morris Spencer of Plymouth, NC; daughter, Heather Elaine Spencer (Willie Langley) of Winterville, NC; grandchildren, Sydney Brock and Spencer Brock.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home with Reverend Leonard Bowers officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
