Obituary for Dr. John Noble Perkins
Dr. John Noble Perkins, 80, of Roper died Friday, October 10, 2014, at Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton. Born April 7, 1934 in Anniston, Alabama he was the son of the late John Ward Noble Perkins and Azaline Pritchett Perkins and was preceded in death by his son, John Ward Perkins. Dr. Perkins was a retired professor of Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University with thirty four years service. He was a former associate department head of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department and member of Mackey's United Methodist Church. His family includes his wife, Norma Williamson Perkins of Roper, N.C.; daughter, Susan Perkins Ciolino and husband Henry of Rockville, Md.; son, Nathan Snowden Perkins of Raleigh, N.C. and sister, Susan Perkins Dunlap of Ormond, Maine. Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Mackey's United Methodist Church with Reverend Gene Waters officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Albemarle Charge Knit Wits, 361 Mackey's Road, Roper, N.C. 27970. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
