Obituary for Doris Hardison Bateman
Doris Lea Nash Hardison Bateman, 84, of Edenton and formerly of Plymouth died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Born March 12, 1932 in Richwood, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Jerome Nash and Alta Maud Williams Nash and was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Benjamin Hardison, Sr.; son-in-law, Edmond B. Davenport; sister, Katherine N. Banks; brothers, Bill Nash, Archie Nash, Hugh Nash and Ray Nash. Doris was a homemaker and member of Plymouth Church of Christ, Plymouth.
Her family includes her daughters, Brenda Hardison Davenport of Edenton, N.C. and Kathy Hardison Johnston and husband Truitt of Plymouth, N.C.; son, Louis Benjamin "Benny" Hardison, Jr. and wife Brenda of Plymouth, N.C.; brother, Jerry Williams of Plymouth, N.C.; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ with Bob Moulden and Jay Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ and other times at the residence of her daughter Kathy.
