Obituary for Dianne Asby Cole
Dianne Asby Cole, 72, of Plymouth died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at her residence in Plymouth surrounded by her family.
Born April 7, 1946 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late Floyd Woodrow Asby and Blanche Phelps Asby and was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Asby. Dianne began her working career as an administrative clerk with Dixie Motor Company; she later became finance officer and assistant health director with Washington County Heath Department until her retirement. After her retirement she owned and operated That Place Embroidery in Plymouth and Atlantic Enterprise in Washington and was a member of First Christian Church.
Her family includes her husband Jonus Wayne Cole, Sr. of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Connie Cole Denning and husband Walter of Brevard, N.C.; son, Jonus Wayne Cole, Jr. and wife Toni of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; sisters, Joanne Asby Griffin and husband Wayne of Edenton, N.C. and Brenda Asby Sloan of Windsor N.C.; brothers, Jimmy Asby of Plymouth, N.C. and Aubrey Asby and wife Neil of Windsor, N.C.; grandchildren, Jonus Wayne Cole, III, Ella Harrison Cole, Ashley Denning Harris and Evan Perry; great grandchildren, Cohen Harris, Caleb Harris and Presley Harris.
Funeral service will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, Plymouth with Jimmy Elks and Bob Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the residence.
