Obituary for Curtis Ray Spruill
Curtis Ray Spruill, 88, of Creswell died Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Roanoke Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Plymouth.

Born September 17, 1929 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Willie Clyde Spruill and Ivy Barnes Spruill and was preceded in death by his sisters, Marjorie Twiford and Ada Gray Hopkins and brother, Clyde Spruill, Jr. Ray was a retired self-employed diesel mechanic, charter member of the Creswell Volunteer Fire Department and member of Christ Episcopal Church.

His family includes his wife, Syble Jewell Spruill of Creswell, N.C.; daughter, Connie S. Ranes and husband Ray of Henderson, N.C.; sons, Curtis Spruill, Jr. and wife Cindy of Edenton, N.C., Chris Spruill and wife Terry of Washington, N.C. and Carl Spruill and wife Dorinda of Creswell, N.C.; grandchildren, Corey Johnson, Clay Johnson, Cassidy Spruill, Catie Spruill, Catherine Spruill, Camden Spruill, Casey Peralta and Tracy Owens.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, Creswell with The Reverend Grant Ambrose officiating. Burial will follow at Saint David's Episcopal Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Creswell Volunteer Fire Department or American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
