Obituary for Carolyn Lou Perry Lyle
Carolyn Lou Perry Lyle, 68, of Plymouth died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington. Born July 16, 1945 in Martin County she was the daughter of the late John Evan Perry, Sr. and Ruby Coltrain Perry. Carolyn grew up in Farm Life Community and was an avid basketball player for Williamston High School where she graduated in 1963. Carolyn and Richard were married on July 3, 1963 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She retired in 2005 after 20 years service with the United States Farm Service Agency in Washington County. Carolyn was a member of the Laura McNair Circle Group with First Baptist Church. She also volunteered her time with the Washington County Relay for Life, Samaritans' Purse and Washington County Food Pantry. She enjoyed spending time traveling with family and friends. Her family includes her husband of 50 years, Richard Carroll Lyle of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Marla L. Roundtree and husband Allen of Midland, Texas and Tanya L. King of Beaufort, S.C.; son, Richard C. Lyle, Jr. and wife Lisa of Jamesville, N.C.; brothers, Jim Perry of New London, N.C. and Gaylord Perry of Spruce Pine, N.C.; grandchildren, Devin Onks, Kayla King, Drew Lyle, Tanner Lyle, Dylan Roundtree, Kyle King and Addie Roundtree. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood and Reverend Richard Smartnick officiating. Burial will follow in Roberson Cemetery in Farm Life. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Carolyn's honor to First Baptist Church of Plymouth or Maple Grove Christian Church in Farm Life. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
