Obituary for Cannious Alton 'Buddy' Armstrong
Cannious Alton \"Buddy\" Armstrong, 67, of Roper died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City. Born September 1, 1944 in Tyrrell County he was the son of the late Cannious Ausbon Armstrong and Virginia Gertrude Armstrong and was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia R. Weatherly. Buddy was a retired welder with Ashley Welding and Machine Shop and was a member of Cherry Church of God. His family includes his wife Daisy Mae Alexander Armstrong of Roper, N.C.; daughter, Rebecca A. Armstrong of East Lake, N.C.; sons, Cannious Allen Armstrong of Plymouth, N.C. and Charles Alton Armstrong of Roper, N.C.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
