Obituary for Bruce Wayne Wright
Bruce Wayne Wright, 76, of Plymouth died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Born April 26, 1940 in Washington County he was the son of the late Robert Milton Wright and Zola Davenport Wright. Bruce was a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in math and later attended The University of North Carolina and received his masters degree in education. He was an enthusiastic educator. In his forty year career he served as teacher, principal, supervisor and consultant for eight years in California and thirty-two years in North Carolina. He was a man of faith and devoted student of the Bible. He served as a teacher, lay leader and leader of numerous small group Bible studies at First Baptist Church.
His family includes his wife of fifty-four years, Judith Clifton Wright of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Beth Wright Sprow and husband John of Chapel Hill, N.C., sons, Robert B. Wright and husband Bill of Arrington, VA. and David B. Wright of Sanford, N.C.; sister, Xylda Wright Gee and husband John of Burlington, N.C.; grandchildren, Cyrus Sprow, Asa Sprow, James Sprow and Samuel Wright.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 400, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
