Obituary for Bobby Clark Hardison
Bobby Clark Hardison, better known lovingly as "Bob Bob", by all his friends and family, passed away at home on January 21, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Bobby was born on January 27, 1934 to Aubrey and Gladys Hardison. He was a graduate of Jamesville High School where he received many honors as an outstanding athlete in basketball, baseball and football.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Gladys Hardison and son, Gregory S. Hardison. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Jean Hardison of Jamesville, NC; daughter, Kimberly Hill and husband Norman of Jamesville, NC; two sisters, Nell Hardison of Williamston,NC and Margaret Boyd of Newport News, VA.; one sister-in-law, Diane Reason and husband Bobby, brother-in-law, Curtis Stevenson and many nieces and nephews.
Bob Bob, as they knew him, was blessed with grandchildren, Tyler Clifton and wife Dale, Bobby Clifton and Holly Thornton, Scott Hill and wife Lauren and Melanie Cooper and husband Tim; great grandchildren; Connor Clifton, Chloe Clifton, Chase Clifton, Jackson Cooper, Tristen Hill, Harper Hill and Judah Hill These children were the "apple of his eye".
Bobby worked at Weyerhaeuser for forty-two years and retired in 1993. He was always in maintenance and retired as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of Jamesville Christian Church. He also served his country in the United States Army where he was a part of the military police. Bobby served two years in the Korean Conflict where he guarded the Demilitarized Zone. He could tell you many stories of his time there.
Bob Bob had many loves in his life. He was a wonderful husband, Daddy, and Granddaddy. He loved fishing, hunting and was a charter member of The Jamesville Sports Club. He enjoyed his many friends and spent many hours with them.
Bobby loved young people and was especially interested in Little League. He coached many years in Little League and had many winning seasons with his 11 and 12 year olds. He was a dedicated Coach and saw to it that these ball players had a way to practice and ballgames.
Bob Bob will surely be missed by his family and friends and anyone who knew him.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Family will received friends at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence.
Flowers are welcome, but contributions may be made to Jamesville Fire Department and Rescue.
The family would like to say a special thank you for being our friends all through the years and especially your prayers during the past months. Thank you for the many acts of kindness shown to us during this time. We love you all.
