Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was born to Comer and Annie Cottle in a small mill town in Roanoke, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Susie Cottle Elliott and Mavis Cobb and brothers, Pete Cottle, Fred Cottle, Raeford Cottle and Jerrell Cottle.
She was very active in school activities but excelled in being a cheerleader for the local high school.
She graduated from high school and married in 1954 the love of her life James Otis Pierce from Williamston, NC.
Bobbie worked as a sales associate at Belk Tyler's in Plymouth, NC as well as a clerk with the Plymouth Clinic. She retired as an administrative assistant at the Department of Social Services in Plymouth, NC.
After retirement she and her husband spent time traveling with their close friends with their campers seeing the United States from the West coast to the East coast and everything in between.
They also took trips out of the country to Japan and Mexico. Bobbie enjoyed her quiet time cross stitching as well as picking Blue Berries and Pecans.
She loved spending Wednesdays with the ladies playing golf at the Plymouth Country Club. Bobbie was a long-time member of the Plymouth Methodist Church.
Bobbie is survived by her husband of 71 years James Otis Pierce of Plymouth, NC and her two children Karen Pierce Ross (James Michael Ross) of Plymouth, NC and James Philip Pierce (Rose Hopkins Pierce) of Jamesville, NC.
Four grandchildren, Elizabeth Janine Connell, Justin Michael Ross (Ashley Saunders Ross), Joshua Clark Ross, and Philip Pierce (Amy Pierce); seven great grandchildren, Dylan, Riley, Branson, Lesley, Joel, Caroljean, and Stetson; nephews Terry, Phillip, Brent and Greg.
Memorial service will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Plymouth United Methodist Church with Reverends Vickie Woolard and Sue Farlow officiating. Family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
