Obituary for Annie Hooker Mixon

Annie Mabel Hooker Mixon, 96, of Plymouth, died on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.


Born in Washington County she was the daughter of the late George Cecil Hooker and Annie Leggett Hooker and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ivan Mixon; son, David A. Mixon; brothers, Cecil Hooker and Herbert Hooker.  Mrs. Mixon worked for Tru-Temper as a cost clerk and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.


Her family includes her daughter, Susie M. Urick of Plymouth, NC; sons, John I. Mixon and wife Tammy of Plymouth, NC and Michael O. Mixon and fiancée Patricia of Lusby, MD; sisters, Lucille H. Robbins of Bowie, MD and Sue H. Knowles of Plymouth, NC; brother, Tommy Hooker of Corolla, NC; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver, Linda Lou.


Mrs. Mixon always had a passion for caring for her family and friends.  She spent her life taking care of anyone that needed it.


A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with Father Henry C. Burdick III officiating. Celebration reception to be held at the Parish Hall following the service. Family will receive friends at other times at the residence.


A heartfelt thank you to Amedisys and all the wonderful team members that cared for Mom and to Dr. Philpot for his compassion. Also, a special heart felt thank you to our wonderful family and friends who called, sent food, flowers, cards, and a shoulder to cry on.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, c/o John Dunn, 106 Madison Street, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
