Obituary for Andrew Luther Melvin
Andrew Luther Melvin, 69, of Plymouth died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at his residence in Plymouth. Born November 18, 1945 in Nash County he was the son of the late Ottis Luther Melvin and Dorothy Narveson Melvin and was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Leo Melvin. Andrew was a retired self-employed logger. His accomplishments, achievements and gifts are varied and many. However his greatest legacy was his humility, grace and passion for life toward the people he met throughout his cherished time here on earth. He will be missed and above all remembered within all our hearts. Encasty 03/29/1974. His family includes his wife, Aon Rogers Melvin of Plymouth, N.C.; god-daughter, Tonya Skiles of Plymouth, N.C.; sisters, Hilda Melvin Swain of Plymouth, N.C. and Helen Melvin Pittman of Pinetown, N.C.; brother, Alvin Lee Melvin of Plymouth, N.C. and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Danny Wobbleton officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Washington County Library or the Washington County Animal Control Shelter. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
