<description><![CDATA[Ruth Alexander Miller Carpenter, 78, of Merry Hill died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Born January 16, 1934 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late Raymond Roosevelt Alexander and Martha Overton Alexander and was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Miller, Sr. and daughter, Amy Ruth Miller.  Ruth was a retired nurse and member of First Baptist Church.

Her family includes her daughter, Sara Miller Manning of Greenville, N.C.;sons, John Eddie Miller, Jr. and wife Stella of Plymouth, N.C., David Glenn Miller and wife Lynda of Clayton, N.,C.; sisters, Geneva A. Humphrey of Plymouth, N.C., Helen A. Frost of Sardinia, Ohio and Frances A. VanEpps of Danville, Michigan; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.  Family will receive friends on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Plymouth and other times at her Merry Hill residence from 3:00 to 8:00 pm.

<description><![CDATA[Christine Ainsley Weatherly, 81, of Columbia died Friday, February 10, 2012, at her residence in Columbia.

Born May 27, 1930 in Tyrrell County she was the daughter of the late Lemuel A. Ainsley and Kathleen Merritt Ainsley and was preceded in death by her husband, Edison P. Weatherly and sister, Mary Ainsley Ward.  Christine was a retired real estate agent and member of The Assembly of Praise.

Her family includes her daughter, Cindee Weatherly of Columbia, N.C.; son, Ralph L. Weatherly of Columbia, N.C.; sister-in-law, Etta Weatherly Armstrong Ward of Columbia, N.C.; grandchildren, Aaron Robert Eck, Brandon Ewing Brickhouse, Amy Brickhouse Viverette, Tara Lynn Weatherly and Justin Lee Weatherly; great grandchildren, Jordan Barnes, Payton Viverette and Audrey Brickhouse.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at The Assembly of Praise with Joe Pierce and Thomas Biggs officiating.  Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.  Family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at The Assembly of Praise and other times at the residence. Born May 3, 1963 in Tyrrell County he is the son of Jerry Wallace Brickhouse, Jr. and Doris Jones Brickhouse and was preceded in death by his wife, Ritchie Howett Brickhouse. Ricky was a manager of Gwaltney Packing Company.

His family includes his parents Jerry Wallace Brickhouse, Jr. and Doris Jones Brickhouse of Columbia, N.C. and brother, Steven Earl Brickhouse of Illinois.

A private  memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at his parents residence.

Born August 4, 1947 in Durham he was the son of the late Woodrow Raymond Collins and Mildred Williams Collins.  Woody was a retired production manager with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U.S. Vietnam Army Veteran and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where he served on the administrative board. Woody had a passion for Washington County and the surrounding area.  He was presently serving as a Washington County Commissioner and Board Member for the Washington County Chamber of Commerce. He has served on numerous committees to include N.C. Marine Fisheries Northeast Regional Advisory Committee, N.C. State Park Scholarship Committee, Southern Albemarle Commission, American Legion, Washington County Smart Start Board, Tyrrell-Washington Partnership for Children  Board, Washington County Cooperative Extension and North Carolina Sea Grant Committee.  

Woody graduated from NC State with a degree in Pulp and Paper Engineering.  He loved duck hunting and fishing, was a history buff, NASCAR race fan and a master of letter writing.  He was known as a &quot;silver tongue&quot; because of his excellent ability of composition.  

His family includes his wife of thirty-four years, Ann Tarkenton Collins of Roper, N.C.and daughters, Alisyn Collins and Paige Collins of Raleigh, N.C. of whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Roper. Family will receive friends following the service at the Mackey&#039;s United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Washington County Library or the Methodist Home For Children.

His family includes his wife, Chesta Whitley Bowen of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Amy Bowen Phelps and husband Jeffrey of Roper, N.C.; son, Ralph Dempsey Bowen, Jr. and wife Dana of Southern Pines, N.C.; sister, Tillie B. Swain and husband Walt of Washington, N.C.; brother, Bruce Bowen and wife Jackie of Plymouth, N.C.; grandchildren, Lindsey P. Gerth and husband Chris, Samantha Phelps, Whitley Phelps, Nicholas Phelps, Mackenzie Bowen, Chloe Bowen, Reid Bowen and Collin Bowen.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Long Acre Chapel Christian Church with Thelbert Leggett and Rupert Wallace officiating. John was a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel serving as a B-52 aircraft navigator. He was a Vietnam veteran,a member of the Outer Banks Gun Club, was an endowment member of the National Rifle Association, member of the Society of Old Crows, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. 

His family includes his wife, Roberta Joy Fox Lumsdon of Cary, N.C.; son, Harold William &quot;Harry&quot; Lumsdon of Tampa, FL., daughters, Esther Margaret Lumsdon and husband Scott Robert Chilcote of Cary, N.C., Jennifer Lynn Bialk and husband Stanley Joseph of Hampton, VA.; sister, Naudine Lumsdon Daughenbaugh of Greene, Iowa; grandchildren, Justin, Jesse, James, Ryan and great grandchild William.

A memorial service will the held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.  Family will receive friends after the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tyrrell County Animal Shelter or the Hotline in Manteo.

W. Wells and David Wells of Greenville, N.C.; sisters, Luann Clark of Wilson, N.C., Beth McDonald of Manteo, N.C. and Betty Davis of Jamesville, N.C..

Benedetto; brother, Johnny W. Garrett. Aubrey retired in 1978 with twenty-eight years service as a warehouseman with True Temper Corporation and was a member of Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church.

His family includes his daughters, June Waters of Dunn, N.C., Inez L. Tetterton of Plymouth, N.C., Marie E. Yannuzzi of Aston, PA.; sister, Annie Clifton of Roper, N.C.; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; nineteen great-great grandchildren;two great-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Reverend Robert Travis officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Her family includes her mother and step-father, Carlos and Minnie Lewis Respass Arellano of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Shelly Dawn Styons of Wake Forest, N.C., Marla Styons Futrell and husband Charlie of Raleigh, N.C.; sisters, Deanie R. Styons and husband Glenn of Manteo, N.C., Minnie R. Hortelano and husband Jose of Plymouth, N.C.; step-brother, Rodrigo Arellano of Plymouth, N.C.; special friend, Wayne Waters of Plymouth, N.C.;grandchildren, Trace Futrell, Liza Futrell and Mary Kate Futrell all of Raleigh, N.C..

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at Plymouth Church of Christ, Plymouth with Bob Moulden officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Her family includes her son-in-law, James R. Riddick of Plymouth, N.C.; granddaughter, Sharon R. Gurganus and husband Gene of Plymouth, N.C.; grandsons, Rodney P. Riddick and wife Dawn, Erik J. Riddick and wife Ginger of Plymouth, N.C.; great grandchildren, Justin Cannon, Alexandria Riddick, Carson Riddick, Zachary Riddick, Beth Riddick all of Plymouth, N.C. and several brothers and sisters in Denmark.

Private family graveside service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at Hillside Memorial Gardens, Plymouth with Walter Johnston officiating.  Family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
